FIRST DEFENSE
Candy Kingdom Defense Beginner Guide
Choose your first hero, make useful upgrades and spend each resource on the system it actually improves.
01 · CHOOSE YOUR STARTER
Start with one hero you can develop
The recorded starter screen offers Finn and Jake, both Rare and three-star. Jake is the community recommendation for early area coverage; Finn also gives you a usable starting point. The captured selection screen does not establish a same-condition winner.
Equip the hero you own and use spare team slots to add a different contribution. Read the unit database for acquisition methods and evolution targets.
02 · LEARN ONE DEFENSE
Place, upgrade, then read the result
- Select a hero card and place it on valid ground beside the road. If placement is rejected, move the range preview.
- Open the placed hero’s upgrade panel. Spend the currency earned during that battle on useful upgrades.
- When a defense fails, identify whether enemies escaped as a group or a boss survived. Change one investment for the next attempt.
- Read first-clear and replay rewards separately. A recorded clear is an example, rather than a guaranteed time or reward for every run.
Collection levels persist with the hero. In-match upgrade stages belong to the current battle; they are different progression systems.
03 · SPEND WITH A PURPOSE
Resource priority for an early account
Gems → fill a team need
Check Codes and available quest rewards, then inspect the current Treasure Hoard offer. Summon for a missing contribution; keep enough Gems for your chosen evolution. Halloween banners use a separate event currency.
XP Candies → a working core
Concentrate early XP on heroes you use. Recorded item descriptions list 150 XP for XP Candy and 600 XP for Big XP Candy. Inspect the feeding preview and reduce the selection if XP would be wasted.
Evolution materials → one target
Choose one documented recipe, confirm the hero and target in the Shrine, and collect its named material and Enchiridion Pages. Pages and Gems can be shared costs across projects.
Trait Crystals and Juice → separate rolls
Crystals change named traits; Juice changes stat grades. Keep a resource reserve. The standard display lists Oh My Glob at 0.2%, so a small stock of crystals does not guarantee it.
04 · PICK THE NEXT IMPROVEMENT
Build toward the obstacle you can see
If crowds leak through, compare wave-control options. If only bosses survive, consider a boss specialist. The tier list by use connects those decisions to individual forms.
Use the evolution checklist to remember what you have collected. Full material planning remains a later phase while current recipes, renamed forms and event requirements are checked.
